Last night in Glenalla Hall, the Llanelli and District Twinning Association was relaunched. Speaking to a packed hall, Paolo Piana recanted the history of the Llanelli Twinning Programme, dating back to 1989 with the assistance of videos produced by Bryngwyn School pupils. The twinning of Llanelli with Agen has been, until now, run by Llanelli Town Council. Last night’s launch is an an attempt to move the twinning programme into the community, as is the case in Agen.
The new committee, appointed from members of the public in the room, including Cllr David Darkin, and are due to meet soon to formulate the future direction of the Association.
